I have a dual monitor setup here and moved some of the views to the second monitor. When i minimize the Eclipse main window i can't maximize it again. This seems to happen only, when you close Eclipse and it restores the windows on the next start on the second screen.
The only way to get the window back is to right click in the task bar(?) and choose "close" from the context menu. Then the main window will appear with the question if you really wan't to quit. You can click cancel and have the window back maximized then, but thats really ugly... And if you opened some modal window, like the about dialog right now (grrrr), there seems to be no way to maximize the window again.

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04

Distributor ID:	Ubuntu
Description:	Ubuntu 9.04
Release:	9.04
Codename:	jaunty

2.6.28-15-generic x86_64

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open Eclipse
2. detach one of the views and move it to a different screen
3. close eclipse
4. reopen eclipse
5. minimize main window
6. try to maximize it by clicking on the task bar....

I still have this problem with Indigo (20110615-0604) on RHEL 5.6.

Another way to fix it is to close and reopen your detached views; the main window will then behave normally. But it would be nice to get this fixed.

I have the exact same problem.

I am running Arch Linux
fully updated as of May 2012.

Version: Indigo Service Release 2
Build id: 20120216-1857

extra/swt 3.7.1-1

Thank you @Florian for the workaround by right clicking in the task bar and
choosing "close" from the context menu.

This needs to get fixed!

Untitled windows

When Eclipse is opened it makes detached windows as 'Untitled Windows' that are displayed in Gnome's taksbar.
If you click on those windows in the taskbar they disappear.

Still the same problem here on new version of Eclipse :
- Eclipse 4.2.1 Juno
- Debian 6.0.6 Squeeze
- Gnome 2.30.2

When I detach windows from Eclipse, if I restart Eclipse later (it works fine the first time), detached windows are opened as 'Untitled Windows' in the taskbar (see previous attachment).

Then, if I minimize Eclipse, the detached windows are not minimized and the main Eclipse window can't be re-maximized (thanks to Florian H. for the workaround).

I can't reproduce this issue, it must have been a detail in GNOME's window stacking implementation.
