Description

ECF manages the XMPP server. One quick note: if you changed your password today you'll have to wait for the authentication data to sync. -M. (In reply to comment #1) > One quick note: if you changed your password today you'll have to wait for the > authentication data to sync. Thanks, haven't reset my password in ages. I've noticed this problem for awhile, only posted the issue today since I was reminded of it by Robert Elves (cc'd) who is experiencing troubles as well. Assigning to zx, as he is the current administrator of xmpp.eclipse.org. I'm raising the priority of this bug to critical. This is blocking me also from accessing xmpp.eclipse.org...and it's obviously affecting others...and perhaps everyone. I'm getting rejected also via the admin console. http://xmpp.eclipse.org:9090/login.jsp (In reply to comment #5) > I'm getting rejected also via the admin console. > > http://xmpp.eclipse.org:9090/login.jsp I suppose it will be necessary to login to xmpp.eclipse.org as root, kill the process, reset the admin password, etc. I personally do not have the admin password for the wildfire server at xmpp.eclipse.org. Is xmpp.eclipse.org going to ever work again? +1 If it does not work, why is it referenced here? http://wiki.eclipse.org/Development_Resources/Reaching_out http://wiki.eclipse.org/Xmpp.eclipse.org (In reply to comment #8) > +1 > If it does not work, why is it referenced here? > > http://wiki.eclipse.org/Development_Resources/Reaching_out > http://wiki.eclipse.org/Xmpp.eclipse.org Because it did work when those pages were created. I'm not sure what's happened with this server...Chris Aniszczyk originally setup the xmpp.eclipse.org server and is still the logical choice for dealing with this bug...as far as I know. ECF does not have the resources to administer xmpp.eclipse.org. This should be moved over to Eclipse Foundation -> Community. Is anything ever going to be done about this bug, or should this be closed as wontfix? In either case, I'm downgrading to major and setting target milestone to ECF 3.6. Adding webmaster. Guys can you enlighten us on the state of the eclipse xmpp server. It's up and running as far as I can tell. I don't have root access so I can't tell you anything more. Presumably Chris should be able to login vi ssh from dev.eclipse.org . -M. Thanks! Chris do you want to transfer your admin role? (In reply to comment #13) > Thanks! Chris do you want to transfer your admin role? Sure, ideally multiple people should admin it. I will gladly take something off my plate :D > Sure, ideally multiple people should admin it.
Since this box has a replica of our Bugzilla user accounts and passwords, and the admins have access to the authentication process, please make sure only committers are admins.

How do we proceed? Any other ECF comitters that want to admin? (In reply to comment #16) > (In reply to comment #14) > > (In reply to comment #13) > > > Thanks! Not that I want it, but I can be your backup ;) I added a note to http://wiki.eclipse.org/Xmpp.eclipse.org declaring that the service is dead. Resolving as wontfix because it appears that xmpp.eclipse.org is dead as per comment 18 |
