Description Todd Chambery CLA 2003-01-04 12:16:33 EST
When working with a number of classes that start with the same string, e.g.

ValuationPoint
ValuationPointCache
ValuationPointDao
ValuationPointDaoJdbcImpl

the editor tabs only show (when limited to 8 open editors):

ValuationPoin...

I can find the name of the current file (if I'm working in the JDT) by "Show in
Package Explorer", or by hovering the tab, but I'd like to see the name of the
file of the current editor displayed in the status bar (or even the title bar,
but that doesn't seem right).

There are preferences (R2.1) to set the tab compression level, so the tab can
always display the full name if desired. Window>Preferences>Workbench>Editors
