Bug 281895

Summary: Repair metadata when launcher name is changed

Description Andrew Niefer CLA 2009-06-29 15:27:36 EDT
p2 needs to know the location of the launcher .ini so that it can properly manage program arguments, in particular, -startup is a key argument that determines other locations in the install.

The mac in particular is very sensitive if we don't find the launcher.ini.

The launcher will set the system property "eclipse.launcher" with an absoulte path to the executable. We can check this property and use it to adjust the profile if the launcher name has changed. (if the user renamed his launcher, or mac .app folder).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
