*** Bug 279710 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** CC'ing all Mylyn committers since we'll need to refine these criteria together. Wayne: CC'ing you since it is community related and since we had a high level chat about the criteria. The wiki page looks good. I would like to add three additional points: * All connectors listed in the discovery portal are required to work with the latest Mylyn release. * For every listed connector an email address is provided that corresponds to an Eclipse.org Bugzilla account. All support requests for a connector that are filed against Mylyn are reassigned to that account and need to be responded to within a reasonable time-frame. * The meta-data (description, screenshot, update site url, etc.) for contributions to the Eclipse.org and Community section data is maintained by the connector distributor and updates are provided in the form of patches. It could also make sense to review all listings once a year similar to how the Eclipse foundation requires regular release reviews. I added all the points. I agree about the release review stuff, but figure we can decide on a policy after we've done a few reviews. Done. I'll leave this bug open for collecting feedback and iterating on the criteria. Moved warning icon image to bottom-right. Was looking weird in top left. We might also need to consider graying the image. Note to self: Remember to remove "/weekly" qualifier from Eclipse.org update sites. Steffen: Note your note to self, in case it's stil relevant. Requesting addition of new connector for Mingle (http://studios.thoughtworks.com/mingle): * source repository: http://github.com/ThoughtWorksStudios/minglyn/tree * forums and bug tracking: http://community.thoughtworks.com/posts/f2802c1861 * update site url: http://twist.thoughtworks.com/minglyn-update-site The connector is still work in progress and has been updated to work with the latest stable version of mylyn. The wiki page at http://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/Discovery mentions that I need to request a review on the mylyn weekly call to present. Would you prefer that I open another bug(similar to bug 278555) to discuss details on what needs review? Thanks Ketan. Please create a subtask of this bug to request a review of the Mingle connector. Ketan: Once you've made the new bug use the Mylyn call to discuss the connector. In the meantime, please include the connectro on the Mylyn Extensions listing: http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Mylyn/Extensions Also, make sure that you're familiar with the listing criteria: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/Discovery#Listing_Criteria Is it possible to request fot the addition of the Redmine (http://redmine.org) connector? * source repository: http://sourceforge.net/scm/?type=svn&group_id=228995 * forums and bug tracking: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=228995 * update site url: http://redmin-mylyncon.sourceforge.net/update-site/nightly/ kind regards (In reply to comment #12) > Is it possible to request fot the addition of the Redmine (http://redmine.org) > connector? > > * source repository: http://sourceforge.net/scm/?type=svn&group_id=228995 > * forums and bug tracking: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=228995 > * update site url: http://redmin-mylyncon.sourceforge.net/update-site/nightly/ > > kind regards I am asking as a user of this connector. I think it is worth to include it :) Thanks Kamil. It would be best if you could contact the authors of the Redmine connector and point them at the documentation for getting included in the discovery listing: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/Discovery#Listing_Criteria . We would be happy to consider it if the criteria for listing the connector are met. Requesting addition of Industrial connector kit for SQL databases and more (http://code.google.com/a/eclipselabs.org/p/industrial-mylyn/): * source repository: http://svn.codespot.com/a/eclipselabs.org/industrial-mylyn/trunk/ * forums and bug tracking: http://code.google.com/a/eclipselabs.org/p/industrial-mylyn/issues/list * update site url: http://svn.codespot.com/a/eclipselabs.org/industrial-mylyn/trunk/com.industrialtsi.mylyn.site/ The connector has been working as base for the Remain software change management solutions for over two years. We have helped people using it to connect to their own systems. We are at version 0.9.5 but would appreciate listing in the community section to get wider adoption. You know the connector as we have discussed contribution to Mylyn itself itself in the past. Time zone differences and long distance call charges make conference call participation less desirable. What must we do to be added to community section? Thanks Maarten. Can you please file a separate bug that includes the information above and make it a subtask of this bug? We'll also need to know who would be the contact for maintaining the listing and who would be handling support requests. It would be helpful if you could include a short description why it is important to have the connector on discovery which is targeted at end users. My understanding was that the Industrial connector was mainly intended as a development framework for implementing connectors. Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1]. We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub. [1] https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-mylyn |
