Description Ian Bull CLA 2009-05-28 18:56:19 EDT
I created a simple plugin, feature and a fragment.
The fragment has some translation properties (plugin_de.properties).
The feature includes both the plugin and fragment.

When I export the feature through the UI, the metadata repository does not contain the fragment translation properties.

It appears that these are properly published, just not mirrored out.

The difficulty is that PDE/Build doesn't really know about these IUs.

One solution is to do the same as what we do for categories. The p2.mirror task supports mirroring all IUs that provide a given property:

<iu query="property[@name='org.eclipse.equinox.p2.type.category']" />

If translation fragments defined a similar property, we could mirror them that way.

I propose:

org.eclipse.equinox.p2.type.fragment.translation

Is it too late to add a new property to IInstallableUnit for 3.5?

patch

This adds the translation fragment property to the translation fragment. (publisher side of the story).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
