Gnome/Motif

Ctrl+C does not work in the System Summary dialog; the mark/middle mouse
copy/paste does work though.
Comment 5 Nick Edgar CLA 2004-01-06 12:16:43 EST
This is just a regular text widget.
Comment 6 Steve Northover CLA 2004-01-06 15:27:11 EST
The copy keys on Motif are Shift+Insert etc. not Ctrl+C.
Comment 7 Sebastian Davids CLA 2004-01-06 16:30:28 EST
Using Ctrl+Insert to copy works.

@@@@

Maybe I came from a different angle:

The default keybindings for Copy are Ctrl+Insert _and_ Ctrl+C
(Window/Preferences/Keys/Edit/Copy).

That's why I thought that they should work everywhere.

I'm not really up to the current keybindings story ... should they only work in
editors?
Comment 8 Steve Northover CLA 2004-01-06 16:37:55 EST
They probably could be made to work now that every single blooming keystroke
is filtered by Eclipse. Since this PR has been reported so many times, we are
looking at adding these keys "way down deep" in Motif so that they will be
picked up by every Motif text widget, including those in built-in dialogs.

Assigning back to UI for now.
Comment 9 Sebastian Davids CLA 2004-01-06 16:54:10 EST
Thanks.

>>every Motif text widget
For consistency, they should also work in tables and lists.

But probably you already ment that :D
Comment 10 Nick Edgar CLA 2006-03-15 11:56:07 EST
Reassigning bugs in component areas that are changing ownership.
Comment 11 Boris Bokowski CLA 2007-01-02 11:09:53 EST
Reassigning bugs to reflect changes in ownership.
Comment 12 Susan McCourt CLA 2009-06-03 14:17:35 EDT
does anyone know if this is still an issue on Motif?
(retitling bug to be more specific about the problem)
Comment 13 Sebastian Davids CLA 2009-06-04 05:12:49 EDT
I do not work on a Linux/Motif system anymore; we also do not have a Linux/Motif system at work anymore.

So I unfortunately cannot verify.
Comment 14 Susan McCourt CLA 2009-06-04 11:54:31 EDT
Bogdan, when you have a chance would you mind trying this and seeing if it's still an issue? (This is not urgent, I was just trying to clear the decks of old bugs).
Comment 15 Lars Vogel CLA 2018-06-22 04:17:24 EDT
Motif not supported anymore
