Description Tyler Van Gorder CLA 2002-12-03 12:10:14 EST
I often have many editor tabs open at the same time. When I get enough tabs open
to where the tabs can't fit on screen, the labels get truncated and appended
with a "..." I have to roll my mouse over the labels to figure out what resouce
I am editing. Is it possible to do one of two things:

a) Don't truncate the labels and just allow me to scroll back and forth.

or

b) Instead of pushing the tab labels off the screen, create multiple rows of tabs
so they are all visible. (This is what Jbuilder does and I am willing to give
up editor space so I can see all the tab labels.)

Thanks

Veronika to investigate and advise

This is an area being investigated by the UI team. The latest Integration
build already contains some of their work in this area. You can adjust the
compression of tabs from the Window -> Preferences -> Workbench under Tab
Compression.

As far as multiple rows of tabs, this solution has many bad side effects (such
as losing valuable space to see your code) and is unlikely to get implemented.

multiple tabs is a dup of bug 28722
Comment 4 Douglas Pollock CLA 2004-09-28 10:48:05 EDT
I feel this bug is sufficiently similar to Bug 22716 that I'm going to mark it
as a duplicate. Please feel free to append additional comments there.
