Bug 271694

Summary: Copy/paste of java files/packages problematic
Product: [Eclipse Project] JDT Reporter: Jon Barrilleaux <jonb>
Component: CoreAssignee: JDT-Core-Inbox <jdt-core-inbox>
Status: CLOSED WONTFIX QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Version: 3.5
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows XP
Whiteboard: stalebug

Description Jon Barrilleaux CLA 2009-04-08 16:22:08 EDT
Build ID: I20090313-0100

Steps To Reproduce:
1.Cut/Copy then paste a group of java files from one project to another.
2.The pasted java files will have the original package statement, not that for the target package.
3.The paste also includes the .svn info (which drives subversive bonkers and is difficult to recover from).

More information:
I seem to recall that this was not a problem in the past: Smart paste would replace the package statement with the correct package, and only the java package/files would be pasted, not the SVN info.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
