From bug 78244 comments 32 and 33: it is quite complicated for blind developers to enable Ctrl+. and Ctrl+, navigation for breakpoints, and yet it is a very common thing for a blind developer to want to do. It would probably be a lot easier if this capability was in the Preferences Dialog. In addition to making it easier, it also makes it more likely that a blind developer would discover that this capability exists.

Navigation to other annotation types may also be useful, because a developer using JAWS, for example, can navigate to an annotation and then press INS+PageDown to read the status line to find out the details of the annotation.

Since there is a workaround as described in bug #78244, we can wait until 3.6. Where the workaround  will be documented?

Is it possible enable this option by default?

Not yet, but I opened bug 270475 last week that we should document this.

No, we don't want this enabled per default.
