A few comments : - This bug should be tagged as 'plan' (in keyword) to appear in the projet plan - This will only be usefull if we can build it nightly. Should we use the same platform that the one for the nighly build ? - We will have to sign the jar. Can we use the Eclipse certificate ? - Where should the jar be hosted (on download.eclipse.org )? I can commit the necessary features and jnlp to generate the webstart application (nearly finished), but the above points need answers. features/org.eclipse.nebula.examples_feature features/org.eclipse.nebula.example_webstart I'm still having a problem. - I need to add the equinox launcher jar to the webstart projet. Is it OK to add it on CVS ? - I get an NPE at in the launcher. HashMap.put in basicRun(). Created a wiki page on how to generate the webstart application : http://wiki.eclipse.org/Nebula_Examples_Webstart Ok, problem solved, I was building for carbon and running with java 1.6. startup.jar is not needed. I'll update the wiki page and CVS. We are close to have a working webstart example. I just need a location to upload all the jars... (can't host this from home :) ) You can try the webstart on http://nricheton.homeip.net/public/nebula/nebula.jnlp This does not work on linux yet. (see bug 270421. Please don't overload my server (limited bandwith) : I need a location to host this on eclipse. Wiki page updated. App signed with my own certificate. Webstart is no longer supported by recent Java version, so I close this bug. |
