Isn't the obvious workaround is that you don't travel to Canada; especially if you don't appreciate our hospitality or our mirrors. :-) Sorry I just couldn't resist. :-) LOL, that workaround isn't really ideal as I'm hoping you guys will let me stick around for good. But I think my bits are traveling from Ontario or wherever to BC interior via Dallas, eh? We're currently under the strain of the release of Eclipse 3.4.2. Under normal circumstances, you'd get better than 8 KB/s from download.eclipse.org. We intentionally don't mirror I-builds (or nightlies) because the cost of replicating all those gigabytes to a bunch of mirrors is higher than the relatively few downloads. Hang in there, the storm will clear. Now is a great time to become a Friend of Eclipse and get 800+ KB/sec! No worries. Just to be clear I wasn't thinking about adding mirrors for I-builds -- just giving access to the existing US I-build mirror from the Canada location page. For M-builds for example, I get 22KB/s from Canada mirror but I get 360KB/s from US mirror so Canada mirrors have always been pretty unusable from here. Anyway I figured out a PayPal issue and set myself up on friends (its actually only 300KB/s but that's plenty fine) so its academic for me. |
