Steps To Reproduce:

If you try to go to https://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/e3.3/ in Firefox you get a failure stating:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to download.eclipse.org.

SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)

We have customers who have corporate firewalls that only allow HTTPS connections to access files.

This is by design. The download servers are designed to move files and handle thousands of anonymous connections, not to encrypt/decrypt data.

Moving all these to Servers.
