When reviewing patches, I double-click a file in Synchronize view to open the compare editor. I like to Ctrl-M to maximize the compare editor so that the old and new versions are fully visible without needing to scroll horizontally. From there use Ctrl-. and Ctrl-, to iterate back and forth through changes. This is a very useful workflow when reviewing patches.

With 3.5M5 (actually I20090129-1800) this workflow is interrupted. When I double click a file in the Synchronize view, the compare editor opens but the Sync view immediately grabs focus back--so Ctrl-M maximizes the Sync view instead of compare. I can go for the mouse and move focus back manually, but it appears Ctrl-. and Ctrl-, no longer work in the compare editor--so there's no possible way to use these shortcuts in full-screen.

Is it possible to restore the key bindings and leave focus in the compare editor when opened from the Synchronize view?

I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that we already have bugs open for both issues: the focus issue is addressed in bug 261613, for the Ctrl+. issue take a look at bug 261229. The bad news is that none of them has been fixed yet. Both of them are planned for 3.5M6 though.
