As of 2.0.2, the Eclipse import wizard supports Existing Project, External Plug-
ins and Fragments, File system, Team Project Set, and Zip file.

For some items whose location is known (.jar/.zip files for small to medium
sized dependancies, RFCs, etc.) it would often be easiest to just enter a URL
and let Eclipse download the item directly to the workspace instead of
downloading it to a temporary location on the hard drive and then importing it.

Lazy people like me would appreciate it if import from 'Internet resource' (or
something similar) were on the list.

We won't be adding this functionality directly. I know the web tools project have implemented some kind of capability to import from remote filesystems. That might be close to what you are looking for here.
