Bug 257979

Summary: [context] Task editor empty after restart
Product: z_Archived Reporter: Kim Sullivan <alicebot>
Component: MylynAssignee: Steffen Pingel <steffen.pingel>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE QA Contact:
Severity: normal

Description Kim Sullivan CLA 2008-12-08 15:24:45 EST
Build ID: M20080911-1700

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Create a task with a context (deactivate and reactivate the task to save the context).
2. Have the task open in an editor
3. Add another file to the context
4. Restart eclipse
5. Go to the tab with the task.
6. The tab is completely empty (without any exception message).

The error log is empty. The root cause of this is probably Bug 241790, but it's weird that mylyn doesn't report any error whatsoever, which makes it hard to report more information.

Kim, which tab is completely empty, the Context tab? Have you tried moving the slider in the Actions sections all the way to left? Does it make elements appear?

If you haven't already I would recommend to update to the latest stable release or a weekly build which has some related bug fixes.

It's a pity, but I can't seem to reproduce the bug today, so I can't take screenshot. I meant the whole task editor tab stays empty (as if the editor isn't initialized at all), not just the context tab (I did have some problems, where the elements section of the context tab of the task editor always said "Activate task...", even though I had the task activated and the context was non-empty and filtering the package explorer OK, but I can't reproduce that either... it looked like activating and deactivating the task so a file was created on disk helped, but I can't confirm it so I didn't report a bug).

I'm running Mylyn 3.0.3, I'll try the dev version.
