Bug 256956

Summary: DateTime contol: calendar incorrectly cropped when specified size too small
Product: [Eclipse Project] Platform Reporter: Judy van Aswegen <judy>

Severity: normal

Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: Macintosh
OS: Mac OS X
Whiteboard: stalebug

Description Judy van Aswegen CLA 2008-11-28 20:48:22 EST
Builds: Eclipse SDK Mac OSX Cocoa N20081126-2000 (compared to Carbon N20081126-2000)

In the context of the SWT Controls Example, re the DateTime control:

Regarding changing the size of the calendar, unlike other fixed-size controls (like the ExpandBar), when the size is too small to accommodate the calendar, the calendar is cropped at the TOP and on the right. (Normally cropping happens at the BOTTOM and the right).

Visually, this is disturbing – one loses important cues like headers.
It may also be the reason why the calendar moves to the bottom of the canvas when Vertical Fill is selected.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
