It would be very usefull if Eclipse code editing supported the concept 
of "visibles", like many other editors do. It's the only thing I miss.

"Visible" are whitespace characters (like tab and space) that show in the 
editor as other characters. For example, tabs might show up as "»" and spaces 
as ".", for example. This way, I'm certain that a given indentation is the one 
I desire, and not another one with tabs and spaces all mixed up.

It would also be usefull if we could configure the character bindings between 
the whitespace and the shown characters, and also if we could configure the 
color to be used.

As I said, I normally use "»" for tabs and "." for spaces, showing as a very 
soft gray, like RGB 230,230,230 or something.
