Description Anne Jacko CLA 2008-11-05 17:42:34 EST
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #252803 +++

Any new third-party plug-ins that are common between projects must be consumed via Orbit; the final Galileo release will not have duplicate third-party libraries (note that this only applies to identical versions of the libraries; thus if project A requires foo.jar 1.6 and project B uses foo.jar 1.7, that's ok).
Comment 1 Christian Damus CLA 2008-11-12 14:54:10 EST
The Query, Transaction, and Validation components do not include any 3rd-party code. There are no plans to introduce new 3rd-party code in the Galileo release.
Comment 2 Eike Stepper CLA 2008-12-11 15:39:11 EST
Recognized for CDO/Net4j.

We currently have a single exemption in one of the Net4j examples plugin. It contains (and thereby violates another must-do) the JMS API jar. It's just an example. Can I pull the "technical reasons" card or should I remove the whole JMS example from the distrobution?
Comment 3 Martin Taal CLA 2008-12-11 15:54:47 EST
Not applicable for Teneo
Comment 4 Dave Steinberg CLA 2008-12-15 14:56:44 EST
Eike,

Is the JMS API jar already in Orbit? Or are you aware of another project using it?
Comment 5 Eike Stepper CLA 2008-12-15 17:28:22 EST
> Is the JMS API jar already in Orbit?

No ;-(

> Or are you aware of another project using it?

No.

Scott was interested in it, too.
But I suspect that he's still using his external server for distribution...

The requirement concerns only with third-party plug-ins that are common between projects. It sounds like we're in the clear for this one.
Comment 7 Ed Merks CLA 2009-03-04 12:19:57 EST
We're using orbit stuff when we can.
Comment 8 Ed Merks CLA 2018-01-22 11:36:08 EST
Closing all fixed releng bugs.
