The Eclipse build process is currently complex and brittle, impacting our ability to deliver stable builds on a reliable schedule. We will make improvements to the build process to make it more robust and reproducible.[Rel. Eng., PDE]

Several improvements have already been made this year

1) New build hardware reduced build time by ~50%

2) Run build with 1.6 vm for better performance bug 237354

3) Run build with generator (bug 248298) and director (bug 240237) from milestone instead of the ones compiled with the build.  Thus a problem with the generator or director doesn't cause the build itself to fail.

4) Use new jdt.core with multi-core support for faster compilation

5) Enable parallel compilation in builds with new pde build (bug 249868)

Also moved to the publisher, changed the platform, RCP and SDK builds to use product builds, features are now built using the p2 slicer, implemented composite repositories and removed all use of the packager.
