Description
John Arthorne
Hi John, we did many improvements in Bidi. The most important bug we fixed was Bug 236513. Unfortunately, there is one important bidi bug still open: bug 230854. We did an extensive investigation for bug 230854 and at this point we don't have solution for it. It is likely it won't be fixed for 3.5. For that reason, I don't think we can mark this plan item as fixed. On the other hand deferred doesn't feel right either. Not sure what to do. Steve? Provided that we have improved Bidi substantially (which we have), we can mark this bug fixed, but indicate that "dynamic, complex expressions within Eclipse" were not addressed. This is my current thinking. Although it's not SWT, I have added bug 243270 as a related bug to this plan item since it enables support for configuring BIDI representation of calendars and dates. Another major BIDI problem which was fixed in Eclipse 3.5 is Bug 146237 – [Intro] TVT3.2:Welcome page layout problem. This also not an SWT bug. This plan item was committed in the Galileo plan, so marking this bug fixed. |
