Description Alan Cole CLA 2008-10-15 09:17:36 EDT
Similar to how 'Debug' will save project files before running debug, have the build function automatically save unsaved project files before building, reducing the user's error of forgetting to save prior to building the project.

The request almost makes sense, if it was not for the fact that my Eclipse SDK has no "Build function" that is invoked by the user. Builds happen automatically upon saving files.

Can you please explain which product (or plug-ins) you are using, and how you invoke the build function?

I am using the Eclipse Platform 3.4.0 with CDT, for use with C++.
Comment 3 Boris Bokowski CLA 2008-11-01 11:52:45 EDT
Moving to CDT.

There is a preference for that:
General > Workspace > Save automatically before build.
The limitation is that this saves only files of the project being built, but not the files of referenced projects (bug 86637).
