  Invoke the Edit Format pop-up for number data in chart builder,  select the Advanced option, try to find how to define a valid pattern. There's no description about how to define a valid pattern. There's also no description in help.I think its better to add a note, tooltip or example.Thanks.

There's the same problem with the pattern of Datetime type format. Hope it will be enhanced also.

This pattern description is too long, and could be seen in jdk reference or books.
Besides description, we could replace the pattern text field by a editable drop down list. In the list, we could provide a lot of examples. User could use it directly or modify it based on that. This approach makes UI more usable.

Fixed. Add example patterns for DateTime and Number type as an editable combo list.
