Description Kevin Haaland CLA 2001-10-10 22:36:09 EDT
Some loading times for OLEs can be quite long and the user is locked out during this time.
Is it possible to display a progress dialog or just a dialog without a progress? Or even better
have the OLE load in an independent thread (which would be cancelled if the editor is closed)?

Also when Eclipse is loading, if you had any OLE editors open when it was last closed, all
the OLEs will have to load before anything is displayed. Is it possible to open eclipse first
and have the OLEs load second?

Is there SWT API that we should be wrappering in a progress monitor? Is this
even possible I have seen cases where the Window's install runs during this
time as well.

Reopen for investigation
Comment 4 Tod Creasey CLA 2002-09-17 13:49:38 EDT
I would be concerned about doing this because all of the random dialogs that
applications (like Word) can pop up. Moving to Component owner for
consideration.
