Is the UnknownResourceHyperlinkExtension a generic resource hyperlink detector? If so it should probably be renamed to ResourceHyperlinkExtension.

The hyperlinking for Cpp might be out of the scope of the Mylyn project particularly if this would require coupling to CDT. The current policy is to support integrations for components of the Eclipse SDK distribution. Once the extension point is stabilized it could be interesting to add this to the Mylyn CDT integration though.

yup, it intents to represent unidentified resource, e.g. *.html, *.txt. I agree that it should be renamed to ResourceHyperlinkExtension.

sounds good, the design may also cover other resources, e.g. bug 240442
