Currently, you cannot share the editor with somebody else if your editor is opened on a file that's not managed by the workspace (via 'File > Open...') or if it's a temporary file (via 'File > New > Untitled Text File').

Setting target milestone to 2.1.

Does this seem like a particularly compelling use case (if so why?), or is the bug mostly for consisistency with in-workspace editor/resource behavior?

It highly depends on the user's workflow (haha). I don't have a need for this personally but I could see it becoming more important since there are always requests about "how do I open a file in a running Eclipse?". These files are likely outside of the workspace so I could see this as being more important once that feature's implemented. In the light of e4 with the work of trying to add the web to Eclipse's repertoire of platforms (per se), it might also become more important since I would think that we'd probably be opening a lot more arbitrary files.

Adding dependency on 227537 and changing target milestone to 3.0.0 (Galileo).

This appears to be working with the latest code from HEAD. I'm not sure what changed but oh well. *shrugs* Live and let live as they say.

The dependency has been removed as this request has nothing to do with JFace annotations.
