Description Jared Burns CLA 2002-09-12 09:48:20 EDT
Build 20020910
Linux-GTK
Reproduced on GTK 2.0.3 and 2.0.5

Eclipse has started freezing up occasionally (rarely). When this happens, the
following is printed to the console:
Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x922d2)!

When this happens, this UI stops responding and I have to kill Eclipse
manually. I've looked around, and I don't see any log files written out.

SSQ is this a locking problem in GC?
Comment 2 Jared Burns CLA 2002-12-15 15:47:28 EST
I hadn't seen this bug since I upgraded to Mandrake 9.0 (gtk+2.0.6), but it
seems to be back in the 20021213 build. I've had Eclipse freeze up on me twice
this morning with this bug.
Comment 3 Andrew Irvine CLA 2003-01-22 09:15:14 EST
I am experiencing this problem on the I20030121 build. You can drop by my desk
if you wish to debug here.

Comment 6 Bruno Essmann CLA 2003-01-27 04:11:57 EST
Happens to me as well about every hour or so on a debian woody stable/testing
build. It only seems to happen if I open a new window (e.g. from the package
explorer). May be related to an occasional flickering of the window titlebar I
notice using WindowMaker (I have to click the titlebar to unfreeze eclipse).
Comment 7 Jared Burns CLA 2003-01-27 11:15:26 EST
I've recently noticed that this seems to happen when I'm opening an editor.
Are other people's experiences the same?
Comment 8 Ian Wehrman CLA 2003-01-27 11:27:55 EST
i have definitely seen it a number of times upon opening an editor, but can't
confirm that it's the only trigger. i have noticed that it has settled down
quite a bit since backing off to M4, but hasn't gone away entirely. now it
happens maybe once a day, where as with the integration build I20030122 it was
happening constantly.

i'm on linux-2.4, X-4.1.0, redhat-7.3~,
gtk2-2.0.6.0.200210290744-0.snap.ximian.1, jdk-1.4.1-b21

All issues reported so far have this in common (bug 29679. 29146 and my former
attachment).
