<response_by> Moravia IT at 2008.05.15.09.10.03 </response_by>
OS: Linux
Build date: 0514
Component/Function name: WTP
Blocking: NO
Tester Name: Kamil Ignacak

Steps to recreate the problem:
1. Create JPA project
2. Right click on project, from context menu select JPA Tools -> Generate entities
3. In the Connection drop-down box choose Birt Classic Models Sample Database
4. Use the drop-down to select CLASSICMODELS and click Next
5. Select CUSTOMERS and click Finish
6. Expand the TVTJPA -> src -> (default package) and double click on Users.java
7. Goto Window -> Show View -> Other...
8. Open both views under JPA
9. Select Customers under the JPA Structure View
10. Double click on JPA Details view tab to maximize it

Problem description:
Maximized JPA Details views becomes empty, as if selection in JPA Structure view became unselected. JPA Details cannot be viewed in maximized view.

Does it work as designed?

When one goes to edit the "Customers" java file and opens the JPA Structure view, I then click on the "Customers" root node, which populates that JPA Details view. When I move the cursor about the @Entity tag, the JPA details view become empty.

However, when I click on a blank line under the @Entity tag, the JPA Details view is populated according the details of the root node.

Is the whole prefix entirely necessary?
Comment 3 Paul Fullbright CLA 2008-05-21 12:55:00 EDT
It appears that some workbench code may have changed underneath us, perhaps similar to the request in bug 148574. I'm pretty sure this did not happen in the past.

At any rate, we'd have to have pretty sizable changes in order to handle this, including (most likely) API changes, and given that only the selection is lost (and can be reacquired), I recommend we defer this post 2.0 when we make more comprehensive changes to our selection mechanism.

This bug has been deferred. It will be considered for the 3.4.1 service pack.

(The prefix is required for our bridging software to link the bugzilla with our internal defect tracking system)
