Steps To Reproduce:
1.start eclipse
2.open any file in a project
3.


More information:
When internet connection is present it takes 30 seconds to open any file and display it in the editor.
However when the internet connection is switched off, it opens right away.
I tested this with differend jre-s and different eclipse version too. It's always the same problem

What version of gtk+ are you running? Where did you download Eclipse?

eclipse is downloaded from the eclipse site.
version is:
Version: 3.3.2
Build id: M20080221-1800

I'm running opensuse 10.3 (64bit) with following packages installed

gtk2-2.12.0-5.4
gtk2-32bit-2.12.0-5.4
gtk2-engines-2.12.0-4
gtkhtml2-3.16.0-3

Can you try starting Eclipse with the suggested method below?

./eclipse -vmargs -Dorg.eclipse.swt.internal.gtk.disablePrinting

it seems that it helped
I once started it with parameters you posted and it worked.
Now it even works without parameters.
Is that possible?

I haven't heard of that one. Someone from the SWT team would have to comment on this.
