Sorry, I should have been more clear. Updating summary.
Comment 2 Pascal Rapicault CLA 2008-04-30 16:10:33 EDT
This sounds like a good idea.
Comment 3 Jeff McAffer CLA 2008-05-03 08:01:50 EDT
we chose JAR format to allow for signing etc. since repos are handled entirely by p2 code and users should never have to manage them, its not clear why we would allow tar.gz files.
Comment 4 Andrew Overholt CLA 2008-05-05 09:46:43 EDT
I was thinking I could use an SDK tarball as a repository.
Comment 5 Jeff McAffer CLA 2008-05-05 20:48:26 EDT
ah, my bad. you are talking about whole repos zip'd up not just the index files. A bit more detail in the description would be good ;-)
Comment 6 Pascal Rapicault CLA 2008-12-11 15:59:18 EST
Removing milestone. We don't have plan to work on this.
Comment 7 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2019-09-06 16:17:43 EDT
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
Comment 8 Alexander Kurtakov CLA 2019-10-10 16:56:58 EDT
Clearly not much interest in this one.
