Description Thomas Hallgren CLA 2008-04-17 03:09:17 EDT
When the p2 EclipseGenerator is used to p2-ize an update site, it does not take the <archive> entries of the site.xml into consideration.

The problem is twofold:
1. No rules are generated to reflect the archive redirects.
2. A rule in the artifacts.xml can only use URL's with with 'file' protocol. An attempt to use 'http' will yield a null response when requesting the artifact.

I think there will be more problems related to this since the current Update Site is not a self contained unit. The site.xml can point to features using arbitrary URL's.

Jed, Tim have you ever encountered that?

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
