We need to improve user experience by eliminating the possibility of blank/empty views.  The task list is subject to this usability problem when switching working sets:

1) "Go into" folder A
2) Select working set B that does not contain A

I'd like to propose that if the selected working set doesn't contain the current gone into folder that the view is reset to the top.

May I suggest to remove all this black magic about jumping out of empty folders and instead show a hyperlink that would allow to do that. It works quite well on Synchronize view. Besides, empty folder or working set is a legitimate scenario.

Rob: when a Task List is blank we could provide users with links for each of the common scenarios, e.g.:
* Create a New Task...
* Restore Tasks from History... (good to show a new user since they'll learn it's there, even though they won't have a history)
* Restore default view settings (not a great title, but an effect would be to clear Go Into and Working Set state)

The last item should probably only show when a working set / go into is selected.

Perhaps call the last option "Show All tasks" (and show it if task list is not empty).
