Description
Mik Kersten
Cool. That was the package with the most downloads in the past few months. I am working on EPP today and let you know about the next steps soon. Mik, Steffen, the (old) package definition is available from CVS :pserver:anonymous@dev.eclipse.org:/cvsroot/technology --- org.eclipse.epp/releng/org.eclipse.epp.config/eclipse_java_340.xml Could you please take over, put this file in your own repository, and let me know about the new location? Of course, I'll keep you informed about changes and problems. Especially the package metadata will change and new attributes will be added to generate the webpages from that file. Thanks Markus. Steffen: could you give this a try? Should we reopen the question of including the Error Log in this packaging? A bit more info is on bug 194805. I have tested I20080409-1425 on Linux. I only found minor nits: * The UDC logged warnings (bug 226984) * The Mylyn feature was missing in the about dialog (bug 226986) * I got NLS warnings when editing an XML file Markus: we are considering adding the Error Log view, now decoupled from PDE, to the Java package (bug 194805). Any objections? (In reply to comment #5) > Markus: we are considering adding the Error Log view, now decoupled from PDE, > to the Java package (bug 194805). Any objections? Not at all... I think this would be a good feature for *every* package, but AFAIK the Error Log View has been refactored into its own plugin, but there is no feature to consume. Or am I wrong? Yes, it has. Sounds like we are all in agreement. I've commented on bug 194805 stating that we should go ahead and do this. Anything new here? ;-) Can I pull the Java configuration from your repository? Sorry, this fell of my task list. I am not sure what the best location within the Mylyn repository would be. Mik, should I create an org.eclipse.mylyn.epp plug-in for that? I suggest calling it org.eclipse.mylyn.java.epp (e.g., it is feasible that we could end up with an org.eclipse.mylyn.java.pde as well). Documentation for building packages: http://wiki.eclipse.org/EPP/Galileo_Packages Closing as fixed; please open new bugs for the package if changes are required. |
