Description Gary Gregory CLA 2002-08-16 14:53:27 EDT
Eclipse nicely remembers my last CVS commit comment I entered for a commit but
I would like to be able to choose from any of the previous commit comments I
have made.

So, it would be really great to have this feature in the commit dialog, a drop
down list box which would change the content of the text area depending on
which entry in the list is selected.

Every time I successfully commit a file, that comment is added to the list.
Each list item could just be the first, say 30 characters of the commit
comment, ignoring CRs, LFs, and Tabs.

I am not sure when this list should be reset, perhaps never but then you'd need
a "Delete Comment" button next to the drop down to get rid of a given comment.
which would be fine.

Thank you for considering this feature request. Eclipse is great, so keep up
this great work. I look forward to your comments, if any, on this topic.

Thank you,
Gary Gregory

(I am using the released 2.0 build)

This is a good idea. We were interested in it for 2.0 but didn't have the
time. A nice small fix for someone in the commmunity perhaps? :)
