simple example script to remove P2 none

simple example script to remove P2

I'm referring to the wiki page at
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Equinox_p2_Removal
and thought I'd enter these suggestions here (instead of changing it myself :)
[and, thanks for fixing that line about config.ini on the 28th :) ]

Why not suggest 3.3.2 for the config.ini and eclipse.ini? They appear identical, except for buildId, and 3.3.2 is most recent, so will be the one most people "have around".

Might be a little more user friendly, to say "Remove the feature org.eclipse.equinox.p2.user.ui*" It is currently correct in that it specifies the feature ID, but to actually delete it, one needs the "*" to match the version and qualifiers that happen to be there.

Extra-credit: provide an "example script" to make it more explicit in terms of code, which is lest ambiguous ... I'll attach a version, which could certainly be bullet proofed and made easier to use, but ... in case it helps anyone get started.

(And, I'm hoping the removal of P2 is well tested ... I ended up not testing it, since the startup performance time issue was fixed, before I had a chance, need, to take advantage of it).

Thanks for the scripts, this will be really handy.
I'm not really in favor of removing the p2 plugins and feature since once the config information has been removed, p2 is no longer visible, but more importantly it may confuse UM.

I would agree if that's the case ... since those removing P2 would still need Update Manger to have a 'valid configuration' and continue to work correctly.
