Description Mindaugas Idzelis CLA 2002-08-09 09:56:55 EDT
I find myself having lots of editors open at the same time. It is very hard to
see what I am working with because the names in the editor tabs are all very
compressed. I am proposing a view that will simply contain a horizontal list of
all the active editors. Single clicking on the name of the file would make that
editor active. I see room for more innovation here by perhaps even including
a "recently used editor" or "editing history" feature. This view would
typically be found stacked along with the Outline view in the Java perspective.

Have you tried the Editors Dialog (Ctrl+Shift+W)?
It gives you a list with all open editors.

Eclipse 20021213

An editors view has been added, access via window>show view>other>basic>editors.
This is not the same view as provided by Jared. ctrl-shift-w also activates
the pop-up

View has same look and feel as editorlist that can be added to the tab area by
turning on the preference (window>preferences>workbench>editors).

Ability to sort list alphabetically and most recently used supported.
The view is not currently docked in the workspace.
