It's awesome JFace is providing snippets. Please add more examples showing the recommended ways to program JFace dialogs. At the moment there's only one snippet on this topic at http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/org.eclipse.jface.snippets/Eclipse%20JFace%20Snippets/org/eclipse/jface/snippets/dialogs/

E.g.

1. Dialog with help button that brings some Eclipse help in the Help view or in the dialog itself
2. Dialog that correctly sets the layout's trims and margins per Eclipse's standards (so widgets are at the right distance from the dialog's border)
3. Dialog with a 'don't show me again' option.

Writing an article about 'JFace dialogs - top ten cases' would be a great addition to the Eclipse corner. Google searches don't seem too helpful with keywords like 'jface dialogs' so I don't think I missed a tutorial on this.

It's easy to just scavenge existing / old Eclipse code and miss the latest and correct way to use JFace APIs. Well I enjoy chatting with JFace developers anyway so that's not blocking me...

Great idea.  I don't have cycles for this, but I'd love to see someone take a crack at this and then we could review it to make sure it really is "best practices" and offer any corrections.

Hello,

i am a student from Germany and have a suggestion for a GSoC project:
Extend the different Snippet plugins for more JFace, SWT and possible JFace DataBinding Snippets. How does it sounds? Suitable for a GSoC project? Possible mentor? Thx.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the "stalebug" whiteboard tag.
