I'm currently -1 on this suggestion, because the notifications are one of the few things that we have which are intended to distract the user into considering a switch to another task. For example, if I have my personal working set selected, but see a notification with a blocker bug from Mylyn, I might need to switch into the Mylyn working set. However, I could see us making this an option, especially if we figure out a way to visually indicate how many incomings are present on non-active working sets. Well, the problem is the level of distraction the user is willing to accept :) Actually, Mylyn provides all or nothing. An mid-level would be "only from active working sets". We can make this an preference. Agreed. Need to defer this, we can consider for 3.1. This is a more involved task that will require a notification preference UI. Not currently a priority. Not planning to do this, but others interested can vote. Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1]. We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub. [1] https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-mylyn |
