For M5 PDE was able to add the basic properties to allow metadata creation on feature export (bug 216637).  This work should be expanded in M6.  

1) Allow metadata generation for product export.
2) Allow metadata generation when exporting to archive files.
3) Exporting for multiple platforms should be supported.

fyi, I am working on some new generator code that I hope to have available by the end of the week.  no promises but that is the goal...

We are no longer going to generate p2 metadata on plugin/feature export.  Bug 226026 will handle the changes needed to PDE Build/UI to support metadata generation on product export.  Bug 227217 will handle the changes needed to support metadata generation on update site support.

This bug is no longer relevant.  Marking as INVALID.
