Steps To Reproduce:
The scheduling does not work well for people who don't work 5 days a week, people who don't work the same hours each day, or people who may work for a limited time on Mylyn-assignable tasks.

More information:
Suggestion 1: Include Mylyn work week schedule with the fields "Work day start" and "Work day end" for each day of the week.

Suggestion 2: Include a calendar where work hours can be specified (by default using the work hours specified for the work week in Suggestion 1.)

Ola: please take a look at bug 173809 and comment there with any additional needs that you have.  It should cover most of what you need.  Also note that we have streamlined scheduling so that the work day start and end are not needed for daily scheduling anymore.  You can try that in the latest weekly builds available from the download page.  For more information see bug 206566.
