Description chris burgess CLA 2008-01-28 19:29:35 EST
Build ID: N/A

Steps To Reproduce:
1. Register for newsgroups via link shown when auth failse for http://www.eclipse.org/newsportal/thread.php?group=eclipse.tools.pdt

2. Check email and note that username is - oddly - not the one I supplied

3. See that the previous poster to this forum has used the same username I've just been assigned.

I registered an account with username "xurizaemon", but was sent the password email for account "exquisitus". I can log in as exquisitus fine (that user may have been locked out).

More information:
Please contact me by email, and reset the password for user exquisitus.

exquisitus is the common username. I log in as exquisitus. Let me guess -- the password is flinder1f7 ?

The only reason we password-protect our newsgroups is to keep those low-life spammers at bay. I'll close this as worksforme -- share exquisitus with your friends and family, as long as they're not spammers!

Heh. I guess what led me astray the most was that the previous poster in that forum had also used the handle "exquisitus", so figured it was his account I'd been awarded.

Thanks Denis, all makes sense now. Cheers!
