Description Yasuhisa Gotoh CLA 2007-12-18 10:51:10 EST
The compilation function of XPath expressions is not working when analyzing log records using Symptom V2.0 catalogs. So the symptom analysis operation takes too long time to complete.

The XPath cache files can be found in the
<workspace_path>\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.tptp.platform.models.lta directory but the size is always zero.

Driver:

TPTP-4.5.0-200712101040 (TPTP 4.5 i4 TP1 driver)

Steps:

(Refer to Platform.Model.FastXPath_IBM50.testsuite for details)

1. Import the WebSphere standard edition symptom catalog into Symptom 2.0 format using the proprietary format importer.
2. Import the CBE XML file (org.eclipse.hyades.use.cases/resources/activity_v5_20k.zip) and save the imported log file.
3. Open the imported log in the log view.
4. Select the first event and run analysis using the imported symptom catalog.
5. Wait until the analysis operation is complete (but it takes too long time as in the previous driver).
6. Check the xpath cache files created in the <workspace_path>\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.tptp.platform.models.lta directory. There are two files (.idx and .dat) but the size remains zero.

Patch file for correcting plugin class name

Alex, this is one of my findings at this moment. There might be more in the code that should be fixed according to the package refactoring done this time...

This is a regression and needs to be addressed in i4.
