Many repositories allow users to delete attachments (unlike bugzilla).  I think that this should be supported in the rich UI so that users do not have to go to the web to do this.

We could add a canDeleteAttachment() method to AbstractAttachmentHandler and then connectors could support this via updateAttachment(..).

I am not sure if this should be part of the framework. My sense is that only few connectors would enable it since deletion of attachments will require administrative privileges for most repositories. It would be possible to support this through object contributions though (see also bug bug 203798). Shawn, would you be interested in providing a patch?
