Description Tianli Zhang CLA 2007-10-11 21:25:54 EDT
After creating a datasource with all the connection properties, he wants to create a connection profile to store these properties and he must go Data Source Explorer to create that.
From user's opinion, to be more convenient I hope we may integrate DTP's creating connection profile in datasource and support to export or create a connection profile from a existing Data Source in BIRT.
Comment 1 Lin Zhu CLA 2008-05-22 23:09:45 EDT
Create connection profile from new data source wizard is supported. However we still need to investigate whether the creation of store procedure from existing data sources.
Comment 2 Linda Chan CLA 2008-12-01 22:04:05 EST
The request to "integrate DTP's creating connection profile in datasource and support to export" has already been resolved in BIRT 2.3/DTP 1.6 (bug #212257).
Comment 3 Lin Zhu CLA 2008-12-02 00:02:03 EST
Correction: in comments #1 the "store procedure" should be "connection profile".
Comment 4 Linda Chan CLA 2008-12-02 00:25:49 EST
Need to first look into providing API method(s) in DTP framework for client to create a connection profile instance.
Comment 5 Linda Chan CLA 2009-04-15 02:12:26 EDT
Added new feature in DTP oda.design.ui.DesignSessionUtil to support creating an ODA connection profile instance from an ODA data source design.

Re-assigned for corresponding implementation in BIRT Data Explorer.
Comment 8 Mingxia Wu CLA 2009-05-08 03:25:16 EDT
Add context menu on BIRT Data Explorer to export the data source to Data Source Explorer. Fix it now.
Comment 9 Tianli Zhang CLA 2009-05-11 23:13:05 EDT
From context menu by right clicking data source, user can select Export to connection profile. This feature is disabled for sampleDB Data source and data source which has already linked to a connection profile.Verified and closed.
