Description
DJ Houghton
This seems related to bug 204301. The "name" field of a repo, if set by the repo author/creator, likely should not be changed randomly. If the client sets the name and then saves, the shared repo name will be changed. Similarly, if the repo happens to not be writable, currently the model is to not allow the name to be set. So, if we are going to have user-settable names, they should be "nicknames" or some such. A reminder or hint to the user. This would not be persisted in the repo itself but would be stored in the client side repo list (e.g., the preferences) The real name could be editable but that should be an admin operation. Related bug #204346. Since the bugs are a bit overlapping, let's say that this bug refers to the need to generate good repository names in the metadata generator. marking this as a dup because bug #204346 covers the generation issue. bug #204301 covers oddities with UI, whether name field should even be shown for repos bug #194224 covers user names for repos. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 204346 *** |
