Description
Kaloyan Raev
This was fine last time I tested it, will need to test again. Tested and could not reproduce. Downloaded server adapters were available and running after first restart (prompted after download). Please provide more information about your configuration or steps to reproduce. Any chance you're running this Eclipse from within another Eclipse (i.e. self hosting)? If so, you're probably just running 'selected plugins only' or hitting the known update manager bug with running self-hosted. No, I run the IDE standalone - I execute the eclipse.exe. My setup is WTP 2.0.1 RC2. I have noticed something strange. The first time I install a downloadable server adapter (e.g. GlassFish), it is installed disabled. Then I have to enable it manually. If I then uninstall (from "Manager Configuration") the GlassFish adapter, restart IDE, install it again from the server adapters tool, then, after the restart, the GlassFish adapter is available. Nevertheless, if I now go to "Manage Configuration", the GlassFish adapter is shown as disabled. The IDE needs some hours to "cool down" to have the same problem with GlassFish - as if I install it for first time. I wonder if this strange situation is due to some strange behavior of Equinox. Have you checked on your system in "Manage Configuration" whether the feature of the installed server adapter is enabled? Checked my configuration, and none of the server adapters I downloaded were disabled. Confirmed by: 1) Plugins were available and running 2) The features show in the Manage Configuration dialog even when the disabled features button on the toolbar was unselected 3) The Disable link was available on the right for each feature I did notice that the Geronimo feature had an error in it, but the plugin errors listed were invalid - either due to an Eclipse bug or the fact that I had manually removed the plugins (and then reinstalled) during one test. Just to confirm - the features were disabled, and not just showing errors? Any other ideas on how to reproduce or how your setup might be different? Any update, Kaloyan? Hi Tim, > Just to confirm - the features were disabled, and not just showing errors? Yes, exactly. After I enable them manually, they work as expected. > Any other ideas on how to reproduce or how your setup might be different? I can't find any special difference with your setup. It just happens on my system every time. This appears to be some sort of update manager problem, but since I can't reproduce I can't even get enough information to pass it on. Adding helpwanted keyword for now, and hopefully someone else can reproduce or figure out what the difference is in this situation. Are you still seeing this? I still cannot reproduce, and there have been no other reports of failure. Still cannot reproduce, and there have been no other reports of this problem. Since Update Manager has also been replaced by p2, I am going to resolve this bug for now. Please feel free to reopen if you still see this problem with p2. Cannot reproduce with latest driver any more. |
