Rob, what are your thoughts on this? +1 I like what you've done with JIRA and if we have common api for all connectors to present the dialog to select/authorize the redirection (and update the repository settings with the new url) I think this would be ideal. For the authenticated JIRA case, the redirect is actually the wrong question to ask. Sometimes the server is behind a proxy (and thus is configured to appear as something else) whereas you really always want to keep the URL that you have put in place. This dialog is frankly annoying in JIRA and just gets in the way - not only that, it means that if you have configured it properly, you present users with the option of choosing the wrong answer. Thanks for your input. The JIRA connector is now maintained by Atlassian. I would recommend posting in their support forums if you are in favor of removing the prompt. We'll keep your suggestions in mind. In either case, I assume that we will choose a less invasive way to handle redirects if we generalize that in the framework. Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1]. We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub. [1] https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-mylyn |
