Description Samson Wai CLA 2007-09-05 13:52:12 EDT
The 4.4.1 AC now supports security with TI agent and thus requires the OpenSSL package to be installed. Currently there is no instruction on how to do that.

Here is the text which should go under the "Prerequisites" section:

"The Agent Controller is compiled using libssl.so.2 shared library. Ensure that this shared library exists under the /usr/lib or the /lib directory. If it does not exist, you have to install the RPM package openssl096b that comes with the operating system installation media."
Comment 1 jkubasta CLA 2007-09-05 18:29:04 EDT
Please confirm this is for both Windows and Linux.

Comment 2 jkubasta CLA 2007-09-05 18:32:59 EDT
For Linux, does the supplied text REPLACE:

The Agent Controller is compiled using libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3
shared library.
Ensure that this shared library exists under the /usr/lib
directory. If it does not exist, you have to install the
RPM package compat-libstdc++ that comes with the operating
system installation media.

Comment 3 Igor Alelekov CLA 2007-09-06 02:10:47 EDT
Joanna,
Currently secure AC is available on Linux only.
AC for Windows doesn't depend on openssl package.
Comment 4 jkubasta CLA 2007-09-06 07:54:22 EDT
Thanks Igor. I have added the text to the Linux GS manual. Samson, please let me know if the reference to libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 needs to remain or be removed
Comment 5 Jonathan West CLA 2007-09-10 11:19:49 EDT
The reference to libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 should remain, as the SSL library code is not contained in libstdc++ and both are shipped separately.
Comment 6 jkubasta CLA 2007-09-10 11:24:29 EDT
Thanks, as the requested text was added I am marking this defect fixed.
Comment 7 jkubasta CLA 2007-09-18 13:30:33 EDT
Dependency on OpenSSL not approved. Change backed out until the issue is resolved.
