I'm a DTP user and our company has chosen Sybase ASE 15 for a large project.  I was expecting DTP to interface smoothly with Sybase ASE, but this is, unfortunately, not the case.  

For example, there is no way to view the definitions of the stored procedures on a Sybase ASE server.  You can browse the stored procedure *names*, but not the Transact-SQL.

Without this level of capability, DTP is effectively useless for working with the latest Sybase ASE products.  

I hope that resources can be found to add this level of Sybase ASE support to DTP.  Since Sybase is leading the project, it only seems reasonable that DTP should be a realistic choice for development on that DBMS.

In Ganymede, we'll contribute ASE SQL Model & Catalog Loader (only) to the enablement project. There's no plan to provide Routine Editor for ASE procedural objects (stored procedures & triggers). But will look into the DDL portion, so that the end user can invoke DDL context menu in DSE to view the ddl definition of SPs.

Hi - another company here using Sybase ASE and looking forward to next DTP version with an ASE Connection profile!  With DTP 1.5 I can't even browse tables in the Data Source Explorer view; there is an "com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybSQLException: Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'if'." error.  We'll try DTP 1.6M6 once out? Thanks, Michael Vorburger.

According to DTP1.6 project plan, we will deliver ASE/ASA SQL Model & Catalog Loader to the Enablement project, so that in DSE, the user will be able to see Database objects (tables, stored procedures, data types, triggers, indexes, etc) from DSE. 

Changed the Version to 1.6, Target to 1.6 M6.

This has been resolved by the work done in BZ 213390 and will appear in the M6 milestone build
