Description
Jacek Pospychala
Using the username will not work as it is not unique to the server. Using an IP is not valid either because you can connect to the server with as many different nicknames as you wish. from irc with Remy: another solution would be to track nick changes and either -modify ID to reflect it's new nick (not sure how, as IDs are immutable and we don't have references to all of them), or -have some kind of oracle, that would recognize two different IDs as same. (who'd like to implement oracle? ;) ) (In reply to comment #2) > from irc with Remy: > another solution would be to track nick changes and either > -modify ID to reflect it's new nick (not sure how, as IDs are immutable and we > don't have references to all of them), or Might be useful to use IUser for nickname changes. > -have some kind of oracle, that would recognize two different IDs as same. > (who'd like to implement oracle? ;) ) > Uhh...:) changing target milestone. *** Bug 149912 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 198112 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Resolving as wontfix for resources.
